Javier Uriach i Torelló joined the group in 1988. First at the chemical plant (Urquima, Sant Fost de Campsentelles) and later as Head of the group’s Industrial Division. He was a member of the Uriach Board of Directors from 2001 to 2012 and served as Chairman of Urquima from 2001 to 2021. Between 2006 and 2012, he was also Executive Chairman of the Uriach Family Office.

From 2011 to 2019, he took on responsibility for the Uriach Foundation, which he successfully consolidated and developed through the acquisition of some of the library’s treasures, the relaunch of the journal Farmacia, Medicina e Historia, and the creation of the corporate museum Uriach Gallery, among other initiatives.

After studying Veterinary Medicine in Zaragoza, Javier Uriach i Torelló graduated in Business Administration in 1988. He later expanded his training in taxation and tax consultancy at ESINE and, in 1993, completed the General Management Program at IESE.

Joaquim Uriach i Torelló

Joaquim Uriach i Torelló joined the group in 1993, after gaining experience at firms such as Jufresa-Martell Abogados Asociados and Holco Trading Company (Mann Group). From 1993 to 2003, he served as Head of Uriach’s Legal Department, later becoming General Secretary, and in 2012 he assumed the Presidency of the Group, a position he held until 2021.

His relationship with the Uriach Foundation was always highly significant, particularly through his outstanding work as its Secretary from 1997 to 2024, when he handed over the role to Trustee Javier Navarro.

With a Law degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1988) and an MBA from ESADE (1994), he further expanded his training with studies in International Law at the London Polytechnic School (1987) and a General Management Program (PDG) at IESE (2004).

A great lover of music, since 2022 he has chaired the Associació Orfeó Català and the Fundació Orfeó Català–Palau de la Música Catalana. He is also a Trustee of the Fundació Pau Casals, a benefactor of the Liceu, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cercle del Liceu and the Board of Trustees of the Fundació Victòria dels Àngels.

Juan Uriach i Torelló

Juan Uriach i Torelló, fifth generation of the Uriach family, joined the company in 1986 as Director of the Purchasing Department and Head of Production, positions he held until 1997. Later, between 2001 and 2009, he served as a member of the Group’s Board of Directors.

He graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona in 1983 and worked in the Department of Galenics at the same faculty until 1984. From then until 1986, he worked at Laboratorios Leti (Caracas, Venezuela), the pharmaceutical company Squibb (New Jersey, USA), and SmithKline & Beecham (Philadelphia, USA).

In 1991, he earned a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona for the galenic development of Tranilast, a new antiasthmatic active ingredient, and in 1992 he completed the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE.

Alongside his experience at Uriach, he was also a partner and President of the biotech company Salupharma.

Enrique Uriach i Torelló

Enrique Uriach i Torelló, a member of the fifth generation of the Uriach family, worked in the group for nearly 25 years between 1991 and 2015. From 2006 to 2012, he served as Executive Chairman and CEO of the company, a period in which the strategic reorientation toward Consumer Healthcare was launched. Previously, he held various positions within the organization (Finance, Commercial, Corporate Services, etc.).

He is currently Chairman of the Family Owners’ Council and a member of the company’s Board of Directors.

In terms of education, he studied Business Administration at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He later completed a Master’s in Auditing and the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE. Between 1988 and 1991, he worked as a financial consultant at PwC.

Since 2013, Enrique Uriach has also chaired Urilaria, the holding company for the Uriach family’s Family Office activities.

Marta Uriach i Torelló

Marta Uriach i Torelló graduated in Interior Design from IADE University in 1983 and worked as an interior designer at Estudios Sañes from 1984 to 1988. That same year, she decided to launch her own interior design studio, which she ran until 1999.

In 1992, she furthered her training by completing the Senior Executive Program (SEP) at ESADE/BABSON College.

She is currently a member of the Family Owners Council and has also served in the past as a member of the Uriach Board of Directors.

Marta Uriach is deeply committed to various associations that seek to make a positive impact on society. For this reason, she serves as a Trustee of the Vila Casas Foundation and the MACBA Foundation. In addition, she is an active supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Javier Navarro i Olivella

Secretary and Trustee

Javier Navarro i Olivella, throughout his extensive professional career, has worked in various companies, with his most significant period spent at Uriach, one of Europe’s leading companies in the development and commercialization of nutraceuticals and products based on natural ingredients. At Uriach, he served as General Manager in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, as well as Head of its Innovation Division.

Since 2019, he has been leading the Uriach Foundation, helping it to evolve, consolidate, and achieve its foundational aims. Since 2024, he has also served as the Foundation’s Secretary.

He holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Master’s in Business Administration and Management from IESE. His professional career has always been linked to the pharmaceutical industry, and particularly to the field of nutraceuticals.

Alicia Espriu Calderón

Alicia Espriu Calderón is a distinguished professional in the field of marketing, with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare and consumer goods markets. She specializes in strategic marketing, branding, product innovation, and business development.

With broad experience in the sector, having held various positions as Marketing and Brand Manager at companies such as Omega Pharma (Perrigo), Vanity Fair, Roca, and Indo, she joined Uriach in 2016. Since then, her career has shown continuous growth, and she currently serves as Chief Growth Officer and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee.

Alicia Espriu earned a degree in Business Administration and furthered her studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with a postgraduate degree in Advertising and Communication. She completed the Executive Master in Marketing and Sales at ESADE and expanded her training with the Management Development Program (PDD) at IESE.

Josep Antoni Bombí Latorre

Josep Antoni Bombí Latorre, throughout his extensive career, has served as President of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia since 2017 and as a full member since 2005. Previously, he was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, President of the Conference of Deans of Medical Schools in Spain, Department Director, Coordinator of the PhD Program in Pathological Anatomy, and President of the Academy of Medical and Health Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, as well as of the Catalan Council of Specialties in Health Sciences, among other roles. Over the years, he has led numerous research and teaching projects, publishing more than 240 articles in national and international journals, as well as 3 books and 23 book chapters. He has also presented more than 250 papers at national and international conferences and delivered more than 120 lectures.

He earned his degree in Medicine and his PhD from the University of Barcelona (1971 and 1973), and is Professor Emeritus of Pathological Anatomy at the University of Barcelona and Senior Consultant (retired) at Hospital Clínic. An expert in electron microscopy and digestive pathology, he also holds a diploma in Hospital Management from the University of Barcelona.

His work has been recognized with the 2017 Jordi Gol i Gorina Award from the ACMSCB and his appointment as Honorary Member of the Medical-Pharmaceutical Institute of Catalonia, along with other distinctions.
