La Biblioteca del Doctor Corachán

Dr. Manuel Corachán (1881–1942) was a distinguished Spanish surgeon and a pioneer in modern surgical techniques. Trained in Barcelona, he directed the Hospital Clínic and published important studies on abdominal surgery. His dedication to teaching and research made him a key figure in Spanish medicine during the 20th century.

The work “The Library of Dr. Corachán” is a catalogue that brings together the books of Dr. Manuel Corachán, stemming from the donation made to the Abbey of Montserrat by his daughter, Hermínia Corachán, in the year 2000.

The creation of this catalogue was made possible thanks to the participation of Dr. José Danon Bretos, who was responsible for the historical section, and Ms. M.ª Àngels Rius, author of the cataloguing section. The work was published in 2015 thanks to the collaboration between the Uriach Foundation and the Abbey of Montserrat.

This is one of the most recent works published by the Uriach Foundation. If you would like to obtain a copy, please contact us through this link.
