A few days ago, Mr. Xavier Lluch donated the General catalogue of drugs, chemical and pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical specialties and mineral waters. J. Uriach y Cia. Barcelona, 1912.
This is a work of notable documentary and historical value, which will be incorporated in the coming days into the archives of the Uriach Foundation. With this addition, the collection strengthens one of its most distinctive holdings: more than one hundred commercial catalogues from the Uriach company, covering a chronological span from 1864 to the present day.
These types of publications are a particularly valuable source for understanding the evolution of products, technical and advertising language, and changes in healthcare and consumer practices in each period. In addition, they help preserve and highlight a direct testimony to Uriach’s historical development in Barcelona at the beginning of the 20th century.
