  • Unique Experiences ()

    The Foundation, in collaboration with Uriach, took part in the 4th edition of Unique Experiences, an annual event organized by the City Council of Sant Cugat del Vallès. This initiative offers guided tours to discover leading companies, monumental buildings, and other places of interest, such as the National Archive of Catalonia, RTVE, or the Alba Synchrotron, which are not usually open to the public.

    On March 27 and 28, visitors participating in this initiative were able to see Uriach’s facilities first-hand and gain deeper insight into the company and the Foundation. As a highlight of the visit, participants enjoyed the immersive experience of the Uriach Virtual Gallery.

    Through this activity, the Uriach Foundation opens itself to the general public and strengthens its bond with the city of Sant Cugat.

  • Visit to Rovira i Virgili University ()

    On March 25, 2025, an institutional visit took place by representatives of the Uriach Foundation and the company’s Innovation Department to the Faculty of Chemistry at Rovira i Virgili University (URV), on the occasion of the annual follow-up meeting of the Uriach Nutraceutical Chair (CUdN), as established in the founding agreement of the Chair, signed in 2020 between the Uriach Foundation and URV.

    The meeting between both teams was attended by Begoña Muguerza, Director of the Chair and Professor at URV; Manuel Suárez, Dean of the Faculty of Enology at URV; Javier Navarro, Trustee of the Uriach Foundation; and Alba Domínguez, Innovation Senior Director at Uriach.

    During the meeting, the activities carried out by the CUdN throughout 2024 were reviewed, with special emphasis on the annual Nutraceutical Conference, opportunities for collaboration, and future projects, with the aim of consolidating the CUdN as a benchmark entity in the field of nutraceuticals in our country.

  • IV Nutraceutical Conference (2025) ()

    Great success of the IV Nutraceutical Conference “Bioactive Compounds and Nutraceuticals”, organized by the Uriach Nutraceutical Chair and held on March 6–7, 2025, in Tarragona.

    In this fourth edition, which attracted a large audience both in person and via streaming, the latest findings on bioactive compounds and nutraceuticals were presented, covering topics such as gut health, microbiota, obesity, diabetes and other metabolic diseases, cognitive decline, and finally, the application of artificial intelligence in the study of bioactive compounds.

    These conferences have become a benchmark meeting point for scientists, professionals, and students working in the field of nutraceuticals.

    Unique Experiences

    The Uriach Foundation, in collaboration with Uriach, is taking part in the 4th edition of Unique Experiences, an annual event organized by the Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council.

    As part of this initiative, 43 guided tours are being offered to discover leading companies, monumental buildings, and other places of interest, such as the National Archives of Catalonia, RTVE, and the ALBA Synchrotron, which are normally not open to the public.

    On March 27 and 28, we will open the doors of Uriach and the Uriach Foundation so that you can get to know our facilities, activities, and products firsthand. In addition, you will be able to enjoy a virtual reality experience created by the Foundation, immersing you in the history of the company.

  • Uriach Chair of Nutraceuticals Conference ()

    Registration is now open for the 4th Conference on Bioactive Compounds and Nutraceuticals, organized by the Uriach Chair of Nutraceuticals, which will take place on March 6–7, 2025, at the Centre Tarraconense El Seminari in Tarragona.     The aim of this conference is to present the latest advances in the study of bioactive compounds and to foster dialogue among specialized scientists, students, and industry professionals, promoting scientific dissemination and knowledge exchange.

    As a new feature this year, a course aimed at pre-doctoral researchers will be held on March 5 at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili campus. Under the title “Update on Methodologies for the Study of Bioactive Compounds: From Theory to Experimental Validation”, the course will provide specialized training in the most innovative techniques in the field.

  • Exhibition “Laborest. History and New Image” ()

    On February 3, the Uriach Foundation, in collaboration with Laborest Global, inaugurated the exhibition “Laborest. History and New Image” at its facilities in Sant Cugat del Vallès.

    The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first takes visitors on a journey through history, highlighting Uriach’s century-long ties with Italy and the evolution of Laborest, from its creation in Switzerland to the present day. The second part focuses on presenting the brand’s new identity and image.

    As a complement to the exhibition, a talk will be offered to explain in detail the characteristics and main products of the global brand, as well as some of its CSR projects in Senegal.

  • Javier Uriach Torelló Appointed Honorary Member of the Medical-Pharmaceutical Institute of Catalonia ()

    The Vice President of the Uriach Foundation, Mr. Javier Uriach Torelló, has been appointed Honorary Member of the Medical-Pharmaceutical Institute of Catalonia.

    The award was presented by Dr. Anna M.ª Carmona, President of the institution, together with Vice Presidents Dr. Eugenio Sedano and Dr. Joan Esteva.

    This distinction recognizes both his support and close ties to the Institute, as well as the important role played by our Foundation in the development of its activities in recent years.

    During the ceremony, which took place on January 18 at the Hotel Colón in Barcelona, presided over by the Right Honorable Mr. Jordi Pujol Soley, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the memory of our late President, Dr. Joan Uriach Marsal, Gold Medal recipient and distinguished member of the Medical-Pharmaceutical Institute until his passing.

  • Dr. Joan Uriach Marsal, President of the Uriach Foundation 1838, Passes Away ()

    On December 17, 2024, at the age of 95, Dr. Joan Uriach Marsal, founder and president of the Uriach Foundation 1838, passed away.

    Dr. Uriach Marsal dedicated his life to the family business, combining an exceptional vision for the future with strong and approachable leadership. His unwavering commitment to culture, society, and history led him, in 1988, to establish the Uriach Foundation 1838, with the aim of making it a benchmark institution for promoting the history of the health sciences, advancing natural health, and preserving the company’s historical and artistic heritage.

    His humble and approachable character earned him the affection and respect of all his colleagues, to whom he transmitted solid values that will continue to guide our path and shape our future.

    His legacy transcends his achievements, leaving behind a profound mark through his humanist dedication to art, education, and philanthropy.

    In these difficult times, we join his family and loved ones in their grief.

  • Exhibition “Uriach on Fire” ()

    As part of its exhibition cycle, on November 11, 2024, the Uriach Foundation inaugurated the exhibition “Uriach on Fire: The Great Fire of 1889” at its facilities in Sant Cugat del Vallès.

    The exhibition focuses on the great fire that struck Uriach at the end of the 19th century, a catastrophe that occurred in the company’s warehouses located on the ground floor of the Gothic palace known as Palau Dalmases, an iconic building situated at 20 Montcada Street, in the historic center of Barcelona.

    This devastating fire, which nearly destroyed the company, caused a profound impact on society at the time due to its brutality and the extensive damage it inflicted.

  • Exhibition “Trementinaires” at UPC ()

    From September 16 to November 15, 2024, the Uriach Foundation is presenting the exhibition “Trementinaires: Between Mountains and Remedies” at the library of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).

    The exhibition explores the history of a group of brave and enterprising women who, between the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, dedicated themselves to bringing natural remedies across Catalonia while preserving local knowledge and traditions.

    As a complement to the exhibition, two related activities will take place in November 2024:

    • 11/11/24: Guided tour of the exhibition “History of the Trementinaires, the Women Healers of Catalonia.” Led by the Edulis Environmental Education Association, with the collaboration of: UPC Baix Llobregat Campus Library, Uriach Foundation, Ramon Fernandez Jurado Public Library, and UPCArts.

    • 14/11/24: Workshop on creams and ointments made with herbs (the modern trementinaire). Conducted by Olga Gener from EEABB.
