Nutraceutical Conference

The 4th Nutraceuticals Conference “Bioactive Compounds and Nutraceuticals”, organized by the Uriach Nutraceutical Chair, took place on March 6–7, 2025, in the city of Tarragona.

In this fourth edition, which drew a large audience both in person and via streaming, the latest findings on bioactive compounds and nutraceuticals were presented, covering topics such as gut health, microbiota, obesity, diabetes and other metabolic diseases, cognitive decline, and, finally, how to apply artificial intelligence in the study of bioactive compounds.

These conferences have become a benchmark meeting point for scientists, professionals, and students working in the field of nutraceuticals.

The 3rd Nutraceuticals Conference “Bioactive Compounds and Nutraceuticals”, organized by the Uriach Chair of Nutraceuticals, was held on March 7–8, 2024, in the city of Tarragona.

In this third edition, the main objective was to present the most recent advances regarding bioactive compounds, functional ingredients, and nutraceuticals, through a scientific program structured into five sessions focused on highly topical issues. These sessions addressed the effects of these compounds on the brain, metabolic health, immunity, and the microbiota, as well as the latest trends in their study. The conference concluded with a roundtable discussion on the present and future of these compounds, featuring contributions from academic, scientific, business, and pharmaceutical perspectives.

The 2nd Conference on Nutraceuticals “Bioactive Compounds and Nutraceuticals”, organized by the Uriach Chair of Nutraceuticals, was held on April 20–21, 2023, in the city of Tarragona.

In this second edition, knowledge was broadened regarding the impact of different bioactive compounds and nutraceuticals on health, while also exploring new research opportunities. The program was structured into several sessions dedicated to obesity and associated pathologies, one of the most widely studied functionalities of these compounds, new opportunities for application, brain health, one of the most current topics in the field of bioactive compound and nutraceutical research, as well as current knowledge and emerging scientific needs.

The Uriach Foundation, through the Uriach Chair of Nutraceuticals (CUdN), inaugurated the 1st Nutraceuticals Conference “Bioactive Compounds and Nutraceuticals”, held on March 3–4, 2022, at the Centre Tarraconense El Seminari in Tarragona.

The conference was structured into several sessions in which experts in the field presented the latest advances on bioactive compounds, the methods used to measure their effectiveness, and some of the most innovative mechanisms involved in their effects, as well as the most recent trends in their study. Finally, the sessions addressed aspects related to the transformation of these bioactive compounds into nutraceuticals, so that they can be commercialized and made available to consumers to improve well-being and prevent the onset of various diseases.

During the conference, the results of the pioneering clinical study of the Uriach Chair of Nutraceuticals were also presented, carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Official College of Pharmacists of Tarragona (COFT) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
