“Ciencias de la Salud” Award

1990 – 2006

Since its origins, one of the purposes of the Uriach Foundation 1838 was to promote and develop Spanish scientific research in the fields of medicine and pharmacy. Consequently, the Uriach Foundation decided to establish an award that would fulfill the dual objective of recognizing the efforts of distinguished figures in the field of Health Sciences in Spain and, at the same time, supporting the continuity and progress of their line of work and research.

Awarded biennially, this prize carried the largest monetary endowment in Spain in the field of Health Sciences at the time (20 million pesetas, equivalent to more than 300,000 euros today).
